APABA Supreme Court Swearing In Ceremony In D.C., December 15

October 09, 2008

APABA, in conjunction with various Asian American bar associations in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., is organizing a group to travel to Washington, D.C., from December 12-15, 2008, to attend a swearing in ceremony on December 15 to the United States Supreme Court Bar before the Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court.

We are in the process of planning a pre swearing-in dinner on Dec 14, a Supreme Court tour, and a possible reception with one of the justices, among other things.  The participant would pay for his/her own hotel/airfare and meals.

Admission to the US Supreme Court requires an attorney (1) to be in good standing with the Supreme Court of his or her state (2) in practice for three years or more, and (3) have to obtain the signature of two sponsors who are U. S. Supreme Court Bar Members.  The registration fee for admission to the Supreme Court Bar is $200.  More information about admission requirements can be found at http://www.supremecourtus.gov/bar/barinstructions.pdf

Please contact Deborah Yim (dyim98@gmail.com) by October 17 if you are interested in attending or helping plan this event.
