About the Asian Pacific American Bar Association

Law Student Programs & Fellowship

The Law Student Programs and Fellowship Committee administers the APABA Fellowship.  The APABA Fellowship is awarded to an Asian Pacific American law student who demonstrates leadership potential, maturity and responsibility, as well as a commitment to making a contribution to the Asian Pacific American community.  The Fellow interns at a non-profit organization in Los Angeles for at least a 10-week period during the summer.  Fellowship Recipients for 2002 and 2003 were employed at LAFLA (Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles).  Fellowship Recipients for 2006 and 2007 were employed at APALC and Neighborhood Legal Services, respectively, where they targeted their services to the Asian communities.  The Committee also facilitates student/attorney interaction through various social events including an informal mentorship program, the “Gab and Grub.”
