The Community Concerns Committee, formerly the Asian Concerns Committee, is a joint committee of the Asian Pacific Bar Associations, having become a joint committee in 1985, uniting to support the justices of the Supreme Court who had been targeted for the 1986 elections. From its inception, this committee has been devoted to issues arising from the Asian Pacific communities, from its early efforts at organizing a joint Asian Pacific bar association to its continuing involvement in grassroots movements for equal rights, racial justice and fairness. Past campaigns include those against initiatives designed to deprive immigrants, minorities and others of their rights. We have also supported the Univirsity of Michigan law school in its argument to the United States Supreme court in favor of its affirmative action policies. CCC continues to provide support for the Asian Pacific bar by researching, monitoring and organizing around Asian Pacific community issues.
